The Green Building is truly spectacular and has the potential to really be a spring board toward a more sustainable and prosperous Louisville economy. Unfortunately, instead of applying the lessons of the Green Building, Louisville's incompetent leadership is subverting the public will to toll its citizens to fund the biggest urban planing mistake of the 21st century, the downtown Ohio River Bridge Project. This epic boondoggle will build 100 year infrastructure that exclusively connects to a 1950s style elevated waterfront expressway on Louisville's central business district's riverfront, historical heart and image defining gateway. Meanwhile the suburban component of this project retains an absurd $1/4 billion tunnel that will protect the property of a few politically connected families' suburban estates. The warped priorities represented by the ORBP are undemocratic (>60% opposed), economically detrimental and socially unjust and will lead to over 100 years of economic and cultural stagnation.
